Maggie Tomas is the Director of the Graduate Business Career Center at the Carlson School of Management here at the University of Minnesota. In her role, she leads coaching and business development for 8 different graduate business programs and leads a staff of 13. She has launched and led a number of initiatives at Carlson including Tech Cities, which aims to bring more awareness to the Twin Cities tech business community and talent needs. Maggie’s background includes teaching, counseling, and business development at both the graduate and undergraduate level. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge, and a MA in Psychology with an emphasis in Career Counseling and Professional Development from Antioch University.
She is involved in the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance and Make IT. MSP. She is a contributor to the Women of HR blog, Job Dig, and Work Awesome, where she writes about work/life integration. Maggie lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two daughters and spends much of her free time enjoying the outdoors, embracing winter, and volunteering in the classroom and community.
