The purpose of the association shall be to engage in projects that improve and enhance the quality of residential life in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood. MHNA strives to educate landowners, tenants, and neighborhood stakeholders about ash tree treatment, tree care for replacement trees, and identification of ash on private lands.
Volunteers will be to raising awareness of the current and future of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Volunteers will be tasked with one of two possible activities: 1) They can wrap bright, green ribbon around our current ash trees in the neighborhood. The ribbon details the threat of EAB to our trees. 2). Volunteers can hang small tree tags on new and/or baby trees that have been planted in our neighborhood, letting everyone know the importance of watering these new trees. Besides walking, both of these volunteers tasks are low-impact.
Only street parking will be available.
Upon arrival, go to the main door of First Congregational Church (500 8th Avenue SE) where staff will greet and provide you instructions.
