Engaging individuals and workplaces to support groups that protect, conserve and restore Minnesota's environment.
Volunteers will help care for this prominent natural area along the Mississippi River by the Stone Arch Bridge. We will cut and remove invasive weeds and vines and visit an eagle nest very near this site.
Street parking available, metered. Two blocks from bus routes. Within a mile of the U of M Twin Cities East Bank campus.
Meet near the pavilion at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park. Volunteers will be asked to sign a waiver to help in this Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board park.
What to Wear
Long pants, Sturdy boots or closed toe shoes, Clothes that can get wet or muddy (dressing in layers recommended)
We will provide gloves, however, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
No minimum age. Adults must accompany small children.
Please bring: A full water bottle for drinking • Your own sun screen, sun glasses, sweatshirts and tick/mosquito repellent • Your phone or camera to capture memories of this great Mississippi River experience!
We will provide all tools and gloves. If you prefer to bring your own tools, please mark them clearly. If you have other special medical needs, please bring necessary supplies and notify your leader. We will be outdoors – this means we may encounter varying weather conditions like cold, wind, rain or heat.
