The mission of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is to feed hungry people by soliciting and distributing food and household items through partner agencies. Second Harvest works to educate people in the community about the nature of and solutions to hunger. Second Harvest supplies food through a network of over 700 emergency pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and programs for low-income children and seniors.
Volunteers will assist with inspecting and sorting food or non-food products, which will then be boxed and distributed to partner agencies.
Volunteers may park in gravel lot across from the food bank, in neighbor’s parking lot (Crisis Assistance Ministry) or in the street. The door into the lobby is on the parking lot side of the construction fence.
