In today’s work world, tactful self-promotion is an extraordinarily useful – in fact critical – career competency, relevant at any career stage. It’s not enough to do a good job – people need to know what you’re accomplishing. Even if you hate the idea of self-promotion, you need to develop strategies for positioning yourself, building strategic relationships, and getting visibility, in order to get the recognition, rewards, and job opportunities you deserve. You can’t expect others to take care of your career direction and progress. Based on conversations with thousands of people seeking more visibility, Nancy Burke will outline actions even the most reserved can take to increase visibility, without triggering a panic attack!
