The University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA), which serves and engages more than 485,000 graduates, has a vested interest in ensuring that the University’s governing body, the Board of Regents, is comprised of highly qualified, mission-driven leaders who are committed to the long-term success of our world-class University.
On January 23, 2019, the UMAA hosted a Regent Candidate Forum on behalf of the State Legislature. Participants in this forum included the fifteen candidates recommended from the Regent Candidate Advisory Council. Next, a joint meeting of the Senate and House Higher Education committees will convene Monday, February 18, 2019. At the joint committee meeting, legislators may choose to nominate a University of Minnesota Regent candidate for each open position to the Joint Convention of the Legislature.
