The Swannies Story
Predating Swannies, Matt Stang ('13 Finance and Entrepreneurship) and Adam Iversen ('13 Environmental Engineering) met in a project based, interdisciplinary course at the University of Minnesota entitled "Design for Global Grand Challenges". While transforming the golf apparel market wasn't exactly the "grand challenge" they set out to tackle, after re-connecting a couple of years later they did just that. Upon graduation, Adam received a grant from the university to work on sustainable development in India, and Matt moved to Boston as a consultant for PwC.
While back in Minnesota they got out on the course and shared their mutual distaste for current golf clothing. What started as a fun, Kickstarter launched side project has evolved 3 years later into one of the fastest growing new golf apparel brands. Swannies is now a team of 7 and currently sells in over 500 golf courses throughout the US and Canada.
